Dieta’s Virtual Clinical Trial

Dieta is partnering with a prominent academic medical center in California to conduct a remote clinical research study about the impact of various diets on IBS symptoms and quality of life. We’ll be testing the efficacy of the low-FODMAP diet against a new diet that is hypothesized to be more effective. The study will begin in July 2020.

Why Participate?

If you’re an IBS patient, there are many reasons to participate. Benefits include:

  1. 🌎Remote: you won’t have to go anywhere to participate in the study, everything will be managed remotely. You’ll record your diet/symptom journal in the Dieta app daily and will be able to chat with the research team in the app, from the comfort of your home.

  2. 🧑‍⚕️Guidance: you’ll have free access to a dietitian and nurse that will help guide you to successfully implementing the diet in your lifestyle (which normally costs $100s)

  3. 💸Compensation: you’ll be compensated about ~$100 for successful participation in the trial. The exact number is TBD as we work on finalizing our budget but we’ll let you know prior to the start of the trial.

  4. ❤️Help the IBS community: at the end of this study, we’ll publish a detailed paper with our learnings about which diet helps IBS sufferers more as well as detailed insights. For example, which subset of IBS patients (diarrhea vs constipation) benefited relatively more from each, which diet was more difficult to comply with, etc. By participating, you’ll be helping millions of IBS sufferers around the world to obtain this valuable knowledge.

  5. 💩Improve your IBS: participating in this study will motivate you to successfully implement a new diet in your life for a short period of time. You’ll get the tools, education, and guidance you need to succeed with it, and there is a potential that you’ll learn how to improve your own symptoms and quality of life through one of these diets.
